The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Telecom Regulatory agencies and National Identity Management Commission has directed that all existing and new subscribers link Nin to their SIM card(s) with their National Identification Number (NIN). Failure to do this will result in baring/loss of active SIMS.
This order has been taken into action and all Simcards without a linked Nin Number, FQ have ordered all telecom operator to bar the sims from receiving call.

How To Check Nin Number On Any Sim
You can only check your Nin Number on the sim which have been linked to your Nin or the sim which you used to enroll for Nin.
Insert the sim in your device then Dial *346#. Enter 1 to retrieve your Nin and a service fee of N20 will be deducted from your balance. If you don’t have enough Airtime on your sim, you won’t be able to retrieve your Nin.

- Enter your Phone Number & Nin Number
- Provide your Name, Middle name, Surname and any other Required details.
- Once you filled it all, tap on Submit.

How To Link Nin To Smile Simcards
To link your Nin to Smile sim card, there is two working method Available to successfully link up your Nin..
Method 1 – Using Browser
- Launch a browser on your internet-connected device
- Visit https://www.smile.com.ng/kyc/index.php
- Input your Username / Smile Number
- Input your password
- Follow the other onscreen prompts to get your NIN linked to your Line
- Submit once done
Method 1 – Using Mail
Aside from using the Smile website, you can also link your NIN to your line, by sending your NIN and Phone number to [email protected].
Just open your Gmail apk on your device, tap on the Compose Icon then type in your Nin and phone number the send to the Email above.
How To Link Nin To Spectranet Simcards
To link your Nin to your Spectranet Simcards, i will show you the easiest way to do that. Visit the link below to get started..
- https://unin.spectranet.com.ng/
- Enter your Spectranet User id.
- Select Verification Method.
- Firstly, Verify your registered mobile number. Enter your mobile number and verify with the otp sent.
- Secondly, Update your Nin.
- Tap on Update Nin then enter your 11 digit Nin.
- After inputting your Nin, tap on Submit.
WHAT IF YOU FORGOT YOUR NIN AND DON’T HAVE THE SLIP?
- If registered and you don’t know your NIN, just dial *346# on the SIM card you with the National Identity Management Centre (NIMC).
- A message containing your NIN will be displayed, just copy it somewhere safe.
- Note that checking your NIN via the USSD provided above costs N20 only.
